Provenance: Donated by the artist's daughter to raise funds for the repair of a church, when purchased by the present vendor's late parents in the 1970s.
Exhibited: Royal Society of British Artists, 1951; New English Art Club.
'Girl Sewing' is reminiscent of Portrait of a Young Girl, Margaret Hislop's RSA Diploma picture of 1951.
In fine condition in the original painted wood frame with on the reverse of the support the exhibition labels. The NEC label giving the artist's address of 18 Cluny Avenue, Edinburgh
