Binding. A remboîtage notebook, the binding Italian, late 18th/early 19th c, the 20th c text block possibly used as a visitors' book, bearing dates and three signatures only, some preliminary leaves now lacking, the earlier binding of red morocco gilt, the covers with a supralibros of a crowned monogram, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, 8vo, a commonplace book, dated 1998-2001, [20]pp only of original prose and verse, evidence of some removed leaves, 20th c purple moiré silk, all edges gilt, 8vo, & an early 19th c English caricature, presumably Napoleonic Wars period, An Obstruction to Peace, s.l., s.n., n.d., but presumably London, c. 1810, hand-coloured etching, the upper-margin numbered 576.5 in pencil, 11 x 9cm, (3) 
Provenance: 1st & 2nd: the Brett family, formerly of Watlington Park, Oxfordshire. The first inscribed, Lionel from Daddy/July 18th 1928, i.e. Oliver Brett, 3rd Viscount Esher (1881-1963), to his son Lionel, later 4th Viscount Esher (1913-2004); later presentation inscription from the former recipient, dated 1938.
