Travel, Canada and America in the 1930s. An album of approx. 150 b/w photographs, including the photographer's transatlantic voyage, apparently on SS Manchester Hero, including views of the surrounding Salford Docks and Manchester Canal, onboard deck snapshots of crew and looking out on the Atlantic Ocean; views of real domestic life, landscapes, and transport (including trains) in New Brunswick, Canada, comprising Saint John, Morrisdale, and Prince Edward Island, as well as a series of a tame bear drinking from a bottle; some views of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia; then south to America, with Boston, Massachusetts, and New York, including views of the coastal landscape, the residents, architecture and building, - and in New York's case skyscrapers - as well as people and their lives; some snapshots of the return journey, via the Isle of Man, and some tipped-in ephemera relating to North America, including the ship's menu in manuscript and the Empire State Building, original wrappers, 4to.
