Provenance: Noticed by the former owner (with lot 193) at a local recycling depot in Devon and purchased from the attendant for £5; by whom sold Potbury's Auction Rooms, Sidmouth, May 25, 2010 (£560 to the present vendor)
Comitissae, Unguentum, is an ointment made from medlars, billberries and other ingredients and is said to be named after the Contessa di Vadra (15th century)
Both cracked and chipped with areas flaking, no restoration
