Lydia Ladd was pupil No 2349 in the Ackworth School Catgalogue (pub London 1831) and left in 1806, the year of the present sampler. Lydia Ladd was born on October 21 1793, the daughter of Edward Ladd (1753-1798) a maltster of Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire and his wife Elizabeth Ladd (1756-1794).
