Lieutenant General Sir Herbert Taylor (1775-1839) enjoyed an illustrious career as a courtier. He was appointed First Private Secretary to George III and successively George IV and William IV, also to Queen Charlotte and was principal aide de camp to George IV. He was also the Deputy Secretary for War and MP for Windsor. He married Charlotte Albina, daughter of Edward Disbrowe of Walton Hall, Derbyshire.
