Provenance: 1st: Louis-Henri de Lomenie de Brienne (1635-1698), his bindings, arms and cypher. 2nd: Thomas de Grey, 2nd Baron Walsingham PC (1748-1818), Joint Postmaster General (1787–1794), spade shield armorial bookplate to pastedown; later country house shelf numbering, Case 16/Shelf h/No 26. 3rd: John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute KG, PC, FSA Scot (1713-1792), British Prime Minister (1762-63), armorial bookplate to verso of title.
