An early Victorian linen testimonial sampler, Presented by the girls of Bilston Cholera School to Mr Etheridge as a trifling memento of gratitude and respect September 3rd 1841, worked with children and mastiffs, birds in branches and flowers, in zig-zag border, 42.5 x 32.5cm

The Cholera Orphan School opened in Bilston, Staffordshire was founded in 1833. It was established to house children of Bilston that were left without any family to look after them.
