Barbara Holbrook of Newcastle (d. 1748/49), Puritan, widow of John Holbrook, Surgeon, a copy of her will and the expenses of her funeral, later tipped-in and bound in the mid-19th c, comprising [3]ff of explanatory MS contemporary to the binding, followed by the collection: 5ff transcript of her will, 19th c; 2ff solictor's bill, £198 2s 9d, dated 1751; gravedigger's bill, dated 1748/9; fees due to St. John's Church for the funeral service and burial, £1 5s 2d, dated February 12th 1748/9; the accounts for Mrs Barbara Holbrook's Executors from the joiner Robert Jopling for the coffin, etc., £2 18s, 1748/9; another account for pall and clocks; a haberdasher's for mourning textiles and accessories; a further 16 mid-18th c manuscripts relating to Holbrook's death, estate and funeral, mid-19th c cloth over marbled boards, gilt-lettered spine, 4to
