An English red work cloth, early 17th c, worked with a repeating design of a man and two tethered hunting dogs, deer, leaping or at lodge, other animals and eagle, on a linen ground, 16.5 x 53cm, sold with letter of provenance (2)
Provenance: Arnold F Fraser, Solicitor of Nottingham, by 1935 and by whom given to an ancestor of the present owner, ".... herewith a piece of very fine (in my opinion) needlework.  The date is circa 1630 & as a piece is rare."
