Curmer, Éditeur, 1836, French text, half-title, additional lithographed pictorial title-page 'illuminated' in polychrome watercolour, black-ruled letterpress title, the text printed in medieval style lithographed borders, full-page engraved plates, finely bound in contemporary purple straight-grained morocco by Brissart, signed, graduating gilt double-fillet borders rolled with anthemia and bellhusks, quatrefoil corner bosses, five-compartment spine of slightly raised bands, lettered in the second, all edges gilt, gilt line turn-in and foliate rolled dentelles, marbled endpapers, slight shelf wear and the slightest of sunning, first spine compartment with a singular hole, 8vo (25.8 x 17.4cm); an earlier Latin edition, De Imitatione Christi, [Paris]: Jean Barbou, 1758, lacking title-page (i.e. a1), otherwise apparently complete, finely bound in contemporary Parisian red morocco gilt,all edges gilt, olive morocco doublures, marbled and gilt endpapers, 12mo (16.3 x 10cm), (2)
