A BLUE PRINTED PEARLWARE TEAPOT AND COVER, C1800 with the Peace of Amiens and to the other side a cartouche inscribed Elizabeth Parsons Sherborne 1795, 15cm h
But for the use of the print depicting emblematical figures said to commemorate the Peace of Amiens, a treaty that resulted in a short lived peace with Napoleonic France in 1802, there would be no reason to doubt that the present teapot was not made in 1795.
Spout chipped under the tip, small nick on footrim, flange of cover chipped but not noticeable when in position, no restoration
