A PAIR OF GEORGE III SILVER CANDLESTICKS with waisted sconce, knopped pillar with nodules and shell cornered foot, nozzles, crested, 25cm h, by William Cafe, London, one 1762, the other 1767, 43ozs, 19dwts
On the underside of the foot residue of later compound or filler where once cemented to a base, marks underneath the foot all practically as struck, lion passant on sconces (almost invisible on one) nozzles apparently unmarked but in our opinion original. Stem of one candlestick very slightly bent but both in the same lightly worn but good condition, no splits or repair, no later engraving or erasure
