Provenance: The Right Reverend Rowley Hill, DD, Bishop of Sodor and Man (1836-1887); thence by family descent to the present owners
The first album was assembled by Isabella Thornhill, nee Gell, subsequently Thornhill-Gell (1806-1878) of Stanton Hall near Bakewell, Derbyshire. She married, in 1828 William Pole Thornhill (1807-1876) and died without issue. Her diary is in Derby Record Office
