Having sailed through the waters surrounding Greenland in 1882, Nansen returned six years later where, accompanied by five others, he made the first crossing of Greenland from east to west. His detailed account includes lengthy discussions on equipment and preparations, and ethnographic information on the Eskimo, as well as the scientific results (2)
