Recorded in Joanna Philips' notebook, c1845: "The 3 ruins of the forum in giallo antico, all bought in Rome in 1843". Bought at the same time as the pair of temple models (lot 170)

The Emperor Phocas (d.610AD) reigned in Constantinople for 8 years. He converted the Parthenon into a Christian temple. His is one of the monuments in the Roman Forum
