Cookery. A mid-19th c receipt book, almost certainly Yorkshire, approx. [17]ff receipts for various food and drink, including mutton venison, almond cheesecakes, plum pudding, ginger bread, strengthening medicine, green gooseberry wine, further fruit wines and vinegars, ginger beer, macaroni, pickling mushrooms, pea soup, soda cake, blancmange, etc., verso with more domestic household inscriptions and records, including An account of sundry articles of Plate & Plated things as taken this the 6th day of Dec:r 1864 and put into Box which is deposeted (sic) in the Barnsley & Wakefield Union Bank in Barnsley over [2ff], a further [4]ff with an Account of the cost of sundry articles bought for the house, another list of items bought at Leeds, a maid's wages, family births and deaths dated 1833-1875, signs of five or so leaves having been removed, the remaining contents blank, contemporary calf over boards, rubbed, 8vo
