£400 - £600
An English linen sampler, c1820, worked with a named view of Elm House, an asymmetrical building of three storeys flanked by trees, figures, a man and woman and their dog beneath the first verse of Charles Wesley’s hymn When quiet in my house I sit, in trailing border, 41.5 x 32cm, Victorian rosewood frame
Marginal losses, small hole of pulled threads below foliage, left centre, frame slightly scratched. Note there are optical blemishes in the glass, including a crescent shaped fault immediately to the right of the house, this is not damage to the needlework
