The sitter was of the family of Liversedge of Vallis House, Frome, Somerset and was an ancestor of R T Griffith (1788-1866)
Lined in the later 19th or early 20th century with old handwritten label identifying the sitter on the stretcher. Stretcher wormed, some of the pigments darkened in places, support damaged and also with a number of scratches
