Sold by the Patterson family, the present medals only having recently been discovered in the family home
Sgt John Anderson Patterson DFM was gazetted on 31 October 1941 with effect from 28 December 1940, Sgt J A Patterson of 51 squadron RAF died on 27 February 1941 aged 21.   He enlisted in 1936 as a boy entrant - Wireless Operator.  He was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Patterson and husband of Kathleen Phillips Patterson of Staveley Derbyshire.
