The exterior somewhat dull and with old wear and scratches. Dark brown stain on centre of lid. The interior retaining the full brilliance of the decoration. No glass jar; one canister complete and most unusually with geometric decorated sides, the other lacking the body of the canister only the hinged top present, the lock, handle and hinges original, the feet old replacements for what were presumably embossed brass bracket feet
