A German silver nef in the form of a carrack of three masts, with billowing silver sails and wire rigging anchors, 17cm h, import marked Adolph Barsach Davis, London 1930, 12oz 13dwt in glazed display case

Provenance: Sir Andrew Ryan KBE CMG (1876-1949), Minister to Saudi Arabia, by whom presented to his wife Ruth (nee van Millingen) at Christmas 1930. Sold with an autograph letter signed from Lady Ryan to her eldest son, Jeddah,  December 29 1930 “...Daddy gave me a lovely ship for Xmas”
