The Cult of Mourning in Early Victorian England. A portfolio of English Gothic Revival designs for grave 'headstones' and funerary architecture, dated 1854-56, 11 sheets, comprising 12 Designs for Wooden Memorial Crosses, lithographs, each 14 x 14.5cm, mounted over two sheets, and 9 further designs for memorials and architectural details and monuments, by various architects and designers, being Dudley Male of Birmingham, George Truefitt of London, William Jeffrey Hopkins of Worcester, C.R. Clarke of London, William White of London, lettered, scaled and numbered 1-9, lithographs, 37.5 x 25.5cm, mounted over nine sheets, later 20th c green cloth folio (48 x 32.5cm)

Generally good condition. Some surface toning, the 12 Designs for Wooden Memorial Crosses over to sheets a trifle foxed, occasional scuffs. One or two marginal tears to the mounted sheets rather than the designs. Later cloth folio with former staining and lightly worn, but perfectly serviceable.
