A fine and historically interesting Anglo-Indian carved blackwood dressing mirror, Mumbai (Bombay), third quarter 19th c, the bevelled plate in rectangular frame and profusely carved overall, brass knobs, an claw-and-ball feet, 81cm h; 25 x 73cm  

Provenance: (By tradition) Charles Canning Viceroy of India (1812-1862); by who given to the grandfather of the former oner, a Miss Lewis; sold with a scan of a letter from Sotheby's to "Miss Lewis" dated 7 April 2007
