WWI "She died" memorial plaque, Lilian Florence Harper, workman's number 11 and on the reverse W, four equally spaced tiny nicks where until recently secured by panel pins to a board, memorial scroll to the same, in original postal tube with O.H.M.S. label addressed Mr G S A Harper 99 Market Street Eastleigh, the return address War Office, Whitehall, London crossed out and substituted in ink G.S.P.O. 9 Gt Newport St, WC2, official printed imperial war graves commission cemetery registers letter relating to the grave of 11738 Miss L F Harper Women's Royal Air Force, date of death 17th May 1918 and an early professional mounted photograph of her original grave with mistaken date of death 17th May 1918 (4)
Provenance: By descent in the Harper family to the present vendor.
The original headstone in the photograph was erected by her parents subsequently to be replaced by a C W G C headstone repeating the error over the date of her death having occurred on the 17th May 1918. That headstone was replaced in 1980 with the present headstone with the correct date  22nd February 1919 but misspelling her first name (Lillian instead of  Lilian)
