Provenance: Supplied to Isabel Nellie Larnach-Nevill,( n�e Larnach) 4th Marchioness of Abergavenny (1890-1953) and by descent to Patricia Nevill (nee Harrison) 5th Marchioness of Abergavenny DCVO (1915-2005) Extra Lady of the Bedchamber to HM The Queen, 1960-66 and 1987-2005 and Lady of the Bedchamber to HM The Queen, 1966-1987.
Patricia Nevill,wife of the 5th Marquess of Abergavenny, KG was a loyal and valued friend of HM The Queen whom she accompanied on several overseas tours of which the present high quality cases with their labels and Royal Household stationery evoke the early years of Her Majesty's reign.
Smaller case in good condition with slight wear on the corners, the interior with minor scuff marks and small ink stains but generally very good, the lock in working order, the canvas cover with loss and wear, the lock of the larger case damaged but of fine appearance, the exterior in good condition with slight wear, the interior clean but with V shaped loss to the flap of the pocket under the lid, the canvas cover stained and somewhat worn
