A rare Derby plate, c1790, enamelled with a horseman and groom before a green temple in iron red double line and green frame, the border with auspicious objects alternating with ruyi, the underside with three prunus boughs, 21.5cm diam, ding in concentric circles in underglaze blue   

Provenance: Dr F R Freeman Collection, Derby, his executor's sale, sold in these 'rooms, 1 March 2012, lot 148 (with a Kangxi original, ex Marchant, London; see lot 148 in present sale)
