Asquith's first influential supernatural anthology, including works by Algernon Blackwood, L.P. Hartley, Mary Webb, Arthur Machen, and D.H. Lawrence. The latter making this copy something of a tangential association copy, the Barbers and Lamb House Close being inspirations in many of his Lawrence's works based in and around Eastwood.
