According to an old label on the frame, the sitter's mother was the sister of the Revd Owen Walker of Plas Berw, the last of the name, though not of the family.

Much affected by storage in a dusty attic but undamaged, dusty/dirty with discoloured varnish, the frame slightly chipped and affected by damp
