Provenance: Emily Sarah Tennyson, nee Sellwood, Lady Tennyson, wife of the poet. Emily Sellwood married Alfred Tennyson in 1850, the year he was appointed Poet Laureate. Farringford on the Isle of Wight, became their home in 1853.
