Feb:y 5th 1808/Farnham/Surry (sic), [143]ff, manuscript title and exercises, some text with calligraphic decoration, occasional tables, principally for decimals, Mason, in most cases, prefixes his calculations with mathematical rules &/or formula, along with two loosely-inserted letters addressed to Mason's son, from two different grammar school masters, dated 1894 & 1904 respectively, in which each politely express admiration for the charm of the book - evidently highly-esteemed by the compiler's son - and William Mason's ability with long division and multiplication, which in some cases includes reference to coins, units, weights and measures, original vellum over boards, lightly bumped and bowed, inscribed cover dated 1806, 4to
