'Freeze' was an exhibition conceived and primarily-organised by Hirst, with other students from Goldsmith College, which became the inaugural showing of the YBA (Young British Artists). It was held in an empty London Port Authority building at Surrey Docks, in July 1988. The high-quality catalogue was designed by Tony Arefin and it includes an essay by art critic Ian Jeffrey.
